Seeking a position in the field of SEO, SEM and PPC, where working with clients face-to-face to determine what they need, and then devising SEO and PPC strategies to enable their Web sites to achieve the highest possible ranking across all major Search Engines.
I am available five days a week, Monday through Friday, for full, casual or part-time employment.
Search Engine Optimization Skills ...
1. Keyword and Market Research Skills ...
- Able to research at the three levels of online search behaviour: keywords for general browsing, keywords for window shopping, and keywords for buying, which are mostly brand and model names and numbers.
- Regional keyword research, i.e. for Australia.
- Simple Search: the top 100 keywords.
- Advanced search: expanding the initial search many times over. Digging.
- Brainstorm search: shopping data research, seasonal shopping trends for seasonal campaigns.
- Related terms search: looking for keywords that might not appear obvious or profitable.
- Misspellings compilation.
- Construction of the best keyword phrases for use in anchor text for Web pages.
- Market Research Skills using various tools.
- Analysis of keyword competition (keyword intelligence) to find out how the best performing Web-pages for a particular keyword are optimised for the search engines, and then making our pages better. For example, keywords in the Title tags; keywords in H1 tags; keywords in the bold, italic and underline tags; keyword in Meta Description Tag; keyword density; PR or Page Rank, etc.

2. On-Page Optimization Skills
- A good knowledge of on-and off-page SEO.
- Good understanding of LSI (Latent Symantec Indexing) and how to build silo web sites.
- Good knowledge of what works, and what doesn’t, with Google.
- Experienced with submitting to the Search Engines, Yahoo! DMOZ, and other directories.
- Use white-hat methods only. Keep clear of black-hat and keep updated with latest moves in the engines, ideas and suggestions so that I do not get into old-hat SEO.
3. Link-building skills:
- Able to analyze backlinks using a specified Search Engine.
- Find and email high Page Rank partners.
- Analyze allinanchor, allintitle, or allintext.
- Verify that link partners are still linking back.
- Find where your site is ranked for a given keyword(s).
- Find out how many Web pages are indexed.
- Find well optimized web sites.
- Find and submit using link submission forms.

- Strong HTML, XHTML skills, .htaccess, robots.txt, Google Free Search, Google Site Maps
- Preparing pages for the Search Engines (see SEO skills); setting up landing pages and use of effective anchor text.
- Web hosting software of choice: cPanel Web hosting and Fantastico Deluxe scripts, including WordPress.
- Web design program of choice: Homesite, xSitePro, and Dreamweaver (currently in the learning stage of Drupal).
- Uploading of sites, files etc with FTP.
Website Traffic-Building and Promotion ...
- I understand the difference between the Great Dane and the Chihuahua.
- Submission of Web pages to the Search Engine sand Directories.
- Article marketing.
- Autoresponder marketing. Familiar with the following scripts: Parabots and AutoresponsePlus; and these online services: Aweber, GetResponse, and QT-Pro.
- List building.
- Link building.
- Viral products marketing, e.g. ebooks, free reports and white-papers.
- Technical and sales writing.
- Generating RSS feeds from blog entries.
- Good understanding of Social Marketing, but remain unconvinced of its long-term viability.
- Good understanding and experience with Google PPC services (Adwords). Do not work with Adsense (a personal preference).

Adobe Acrobat Professional and Adobe LiveCycle Designer Skills ...
- Creation of Acrobat forms for the purpose of electronic surveys, order forms, subscription forms, and the like. All forms include a Submit by Email button enabling the user to eMail the contents of the form back to you. The person fills the form out using Adobe Reader, and from within Reader, emails the form back to you. What you receive is an email message which includes the form and its information as an attachment. The form can be filled out manually by hand, and returned manually by mail or fax if you desire.
- The information being sent back to you is in XML format, which means that you can do many things with it, such as consolidating the information into an Excel spreadsheet.
- Creation of Adobe Acrobat documents from Word, Open Office, or any other Acrobat-aware program. As well, other functions are added to the new PDF document, such as password protection, hyperlinks, security options, access for the disabled etc.
Software Tools: Acrobat Pro 7.0, Adobe Designer 7.0.
Graphic Design Skills ...
1. Basic skills
- Production of header graphics with company name, slogan, and product or shopfront and staff images, etc.
- Customization of header graphics collection (over 2000 headers)
- Acquire an image from camera or scanner.
- Image labelling and annotation.
- Business location maps.
- Batch conversion of images, adding all sorts of effects, captions, date/time stamps, in the process.
- All forms of screen and site capture.
- Production of ebook covers, CD/DvD boxes, audio and video cassette boxes, software boxes, ezine covers, book covers, spiral notebook covers, and plastic cards.
Software Tools: SnagIt 7.2.4; Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, eCover Studio, Microsoft Visio.
2. Some Photoshop Skills …
I don’t profess to be a gun Photoshop jockey, but I can get around the following skill-set quite easily …
- Red-eye correction.
- Colourizing b&w photos.
- Adding lens flare.
- Motion blur effects.
- Moving a background object in front of type.
- Post-It notes effects.
- Various edge effets e.g. serated, torn etc.
- TV scan lines effects.
- Curling type around an object.
- Putting one image inside another.
- Various types of text-effects.
- Adding a different reflection to sunglasses.
- Extracting people from their background.
- Making precise selections with the pen tool.
- Batch renaming of files.
- Compensating for too much flash.
- Fixing photos where a flash should have been used.
- Retouching portraits, and other body sculpting.
- Conversion from colout to grey scale.
- Soft lighting effects, and many more.
3. Photography Skills …
Again, in no way am I a professional class photographer, but I can get around the field fairly well.
- Digital photography only.
- Presentation of images as thumbnail in Web pages and other gallery-type slideshow programs.
- Compression of images for web and online transmission.
- Enhancement and corrections in Photoshop (see Photoshop skills).
Writing Skills and Project Management Skills ...
- Excellent English writing ability.
- Can write eBooks, articles, etc, with both people and the Search Engines in mind.
- Check some samples of my writing I have done as a ghostwriter.
Software Tools: Website Article Wizard, Website Content Wizard, Orwell, DupeFreePro, skilled in Microsoft products: (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, Project, Publisher, Powerpoint. Also Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and am steering clear of Visio until it comes of age).
